Lotus Thaimassage stands for traditional Thai massage, performed with calm, expertise and sensitivity.
On Saturday, 31 October 2026, our second shop opens its doors and at the same time becomes our new main location. To furnish it, we gathered craftsmanship from all over Thailand: handcrafted teak walls with a tendril ornament, a hand-painted reception desk, parasols, figures and curtains. Most of the pieces are commissioned works, made especially for us.
But the finest craft of all is the one you experience in our massage cabins. For me, massage is a calling that I pursue with passion. I want to offer you a holistic experience, and I pay careful attention to every detail. High-quality traditional Thai massage is, and will remain, our hallmark.

Our story
How an empty shop with arched windows became our new main location – with a great deal of work done by hand, a long journey and craftsmanship from four regions of Thailand.
The beginning
Kannika built up Lotus Thaimassage at Schützengraben 23. She is known above all for working specifically on tension and discomfort, for example in the neck, shoulders or back. Her careful massages have earned her a loyal following of regulars who come back to her time and again. The studio will remain open, but in future by appointment only.
The vision
A shop in a period building with arched windows, the fittings of an old bar still inside. Kannika saw straight away what it could become: a place where you can experience Thailand with all your senses.
The renovation
Old wallpaper stripped, walls sanded, a new floor laid, and every centimetre measured so that each massage table stands in exactly the right place.
The craft
Kannika travelled through Thailand and commissioned the interior from craftspeople: teak walls in Phrae, the reception desk in Chiang Mai, made to her own sketch, and the illuminated lotus flower sign in Kanchanaburi. Nothing from a catalogue – these are pieces you will find only here.
The journey
Every piece was packed in Bangkok and individually labelled with its destination: 8 wooden crates weighing 1.2 tonnes in total. On 13 June they set sail, travelling via Singapore and around South Africa to Rotterdam, then on to Basel and finally by lorry right to our door.
The installation
Golden Thai wallpaper, the teak walls from Phrae, a ceiling full of parasols from Chiang Mai and, finally, our illuminated lotus flower above the reception desk.

Kannika grew up in Thailand and runs Lotus Thaimassage as its managing director. For her, massage is not a job like any other but a true calling, one she pursues with passion.
Her aim is for you to feel completely at ease, from the moment you arrive until you leave. She wants to offer you a holistic experience in which everything is just right, and so she puts great care into every detail of her work.
Kannika’s particular strength is targeted work on areas of discomfort. She seeks out tension and tightness and addresses them individually, whether in the neck, shoulders or back. Many guests come to her for exactly this reason and keep coming back, because they feel the difference.
She chose or commissioned every piece of the furnishings herself, and even designed the reception desk.
Kannika is supported by her team. Everyone works to the same standard: traditional technique, close attention to your wishes and a calm atmosphere where you can truly switch off.

When you access the website, our hosting provider Hostpoint AG (Rapperswil-Jona, data centres in Switzerland) stores technically necessary information such as your IP address, the date and time, and the page accessed in server logs. This information is used for security and operational purposes and is deleted after a short period. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.
All fonts are loaded from our own server. No data is transmitted to third parties for this purpose.
If you contact us by email or phone, we use your details solely to deal with your enquiry.
When you book an appointment or buy a gift voucher online, we store your details (name, telephone number, email address, home address, chosen service, appointment and any notes) in our own booking system. It runs on the servers of our hosting provider, Hostpoint AG, in Switzerland. We use these details to carry out your appointment, to send confirmations and appointment reminders, to process cancellations and, where applicable, to issue an invoice, for example in the event of a no-show (see Terms and Conditions). For gift vouchers, we use them for payment, delivery and redemption. Any information about your health, such as a pregnancy or physical complaints, is provided on a voluntary basis. Without your consent, we use it only for the booked appointment and delete it 30 days afterwards. We never send it by email or text message. We send confirmations via the email service of our hosting provider. Around 25 hours before your appointment, we send you a reminder by email and text message. For the text message, we pass your mobile number, the appointment details and the cancellation link to the Swiss SMS service ASPSMS. If you would prefer not to receive a reminder, please let us know.
So that we can look after you well on every visit, we keep a customer record. It contains your appointments (date, massage, masseuse, price), your preferences (for example pressure, favourite massage, oil) and any feedback on our service. The basis for this is the provision of your massages.
Information about physical complaints and health is sensitive personal data. We store it in your record only with your express consent: online by ticking a separate box when you book, in the shop on paper or on a device, and by telephone verbally, with a note recorded. We record when and how you gave your consent. The information is used only to adapt the massage accordingly and to avoid putting you at risk. We store it in encrypted form, separately from your other details, and log every access. Only the management and the masseuse giving your massage have access to it, and only on our premises. We never pass the information on to third parties and do not send it by email, text message or calendar entry.
The data is stored on the servers of our hosting provider, Hostpoint AG, in Switzerland. We automatically delete your record, including preferences and health information, 24 months after your last visit. We retain booking records for longer because of our accounting obligations, but without health information. You can withdraw your consent at any time by email to info@lotusthaimassage.ch or in the shop. We will then delete the health information immediately. On request, you will receive an overview of all data stored about you.
If you pay online, the payment is processed by SumUp (SumUp Payments Limited, Dublin, Ireland, and affiliated companies). You enter your card details directly in SumUp’s embedded payment field. They do not reach our server and are not stored by us. We transmit to SumUp only the amount, the booking or order number and a short description of the service. SumUp processes the payment data as an independent controller in accordance with its own privacy policy, including for fraud prevention. In the event of a cancellation, we initiate the refund via SumUp.
Maps from Google Maps are only loaded once you actively confirm this by clicking ‘Show map’. When this happens, data such as your IP address is transmitted to Google, including to the USA. If you choose ‘Load maps automatically in future’, we store this setting only in your browser (local storage).
We link to our Facebook page. No Facebook plugins are embedded; data is only transmitted when you click the link.
To protect against burglary, theft and damage to property, and for the safety of customers and staff, the entrance and the reception area of our main location at Schützengraben 19, as well as the entrance area (from the inside) and the reception room of our studio at Schützengraben 23, are under video surveillance. Clearly visible signs at the entrances draw attention to this before you enter, as required by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/DSG). The surveillance is based on our legitimate interest in protecting people and property and is limited to what is necessary for this purpose. Treatment rooms, changing rooms and toilets are not filmed, nor, as far as is technically possible, is the public space in front of the shop.
We use Tapo cameras from TP-Link (including the Tapo C425 model). The recordings are stored in the Tapo Care cloud service. The provider for Europe is TP-Link Deutschland GmbH, Düsseldorf. According to TP-Link, the data is held on servers in Ireland and the USA. For transfers to the USA, which does not offer an adequate level of data protection, the provider’s contractual safeguards apply.
The recordings are automatically deleted after 72 hours. Only in the event of an incident do we retain the relevant recordings until the matter has been resolved, and pass them on to the police or prosecuting authorities if necessary. Only the management has access to the recordings. You can request information as to whether any recordings of you exist.
This website does not set any cookies for analytics or advertising purposes. In your browser’s storage (localStorage), we only store what you initiate yourself: your consent to loading the maps and your most recent booking number, so that you can cancel the appointment yourself. During an online payment, the browser briefly remembers the booking number in session storage (sessionStorage) so that the payment can be matched after a security check by your bank. You can delete this information at any time in your browser settings.
We keep personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose concerned or as required by law. We delete booking data no later than two years after the appointment, and gift voucher data two years after expiry or full redemption. We delete your customer record 24 months after your last visit, and, where no consent has been given, notes provided with a booking 30 days after the appointment. We retain accounting records such as invoices and receipts for the statutory period of ten years. We delete video surveillance recordings as described above.
SumUp processes payment data in the European Union, which under Swiss law offers an adequate level of data protection. Some of the other services mentioned (Google, TP-Link) also process data outside Switzerland and the EU, in some cases in countries without an adequate level of data protection, such as the USA. In these cases, the providers rely on recognised safeguards, in particular the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or on the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. The website is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). The booking administration is password-protected. The management has access to customer data. On our premises, staff see only what they need for their appointments, using a personal code. Health information is stored in encrypted form. Only the management has access to video recordings.
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, you may at any time request information about the data we hold about you, request its correction or deletion, object to its processing and request that your data be handed over to you. Please write to us at info@lotusthaimassage.ch. To protect your data, we may ask for proof of identity. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) in Bern.

These terms apply to all massages and gift vouchers offered by Lotus Thaimassage GmbH at the main location at Schützengraben 19 and at the studio at Schützengraben 23, 8200 Schaffhausen. By making a booking, whether online, by phone or in person, you accept these terms.
We offer traditional Thai massages and wellness massages. They are for well-being and relaxation and do not constitute medical or therapeutic treatment. They are not a substitute for seeing a doctor. We offer strictly professional massages only. In the event of inappropriate behaviour, we will stop the massage; the full price remains payable.
Your booking is binding as soon as you have received our confirmation. To make a booking, we need your first name and surname, mobile number, email address and home address. We need your address so that we can send you an invoice if necessary, for example after a no-show. Please provide complete and accurate details.
If you arrive late, the massage will still end at the booked time so that the next guests are not kept waiting. The full price applies.
If we have to cancel an appointment, for example due to illness, we will let you know as soon as possible and offer you an alternative appointment. On request, we will refund in full any amounts already paid. No further claims can be made.
The prices that apply are those shown on our website at the time of booking, in Swiss francs and including VAT. You can pay online when booking through our payment provider SumUp (credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or in the shop by card, in cash or with a gift voucher. If you pay in the shop, the amount is payable immediately after the massage. With online payment, the appointment is briefly held for you while you pay and the booking only becomes binding once confirmed.
Invoices must be paid within the period stated on them. If no period is stated, they are due immediately. If you do not pay on time, we will send you a written reminder giving you 10 days to pay. To cover our administrative costs, we charge a reminder fee from the first reminder onwards: CHF 10.– for the first, CHF 20.– for the second and CHF 30.– for the final reminder. As of the first reminder, you are in default and also owe default interest of 5% per year from that date. If payment has still not been made after the final reminder, we will initiate debt enforcement proceedings at your expense.
Before your massage, please tell us about any ailments, injuries, operations, pregnancy, skin conditions or medication you are taking. We may adapt or decline a massage for health reasons. If you have a fever or a contagious illness, please cancel your appointment in good time.
Gift vouchers can be redeemed at both of our locations and are valid for 5 years from the date of issue. The date of issue, serial number and expiry date are shown on the voucher. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash; nor is any remaining balance paid out in cash – it remains valid until the expiry date. Gift vouchers are for a set massage duration: the recipient may choose freely from all massages available in that duration, with the exception of the Couples Massage, which has its own gift voucher. The gift voucher is valid for the stated duration even if the price changes. If a longer massage is chosen, the difference is payable on site. We cannot replace lost gift vouchers.
Gift vouchers bought online are paid for via SumUp when you place your order. If you choose delivery by email, you will receive the gift voucher immediately as a PDF. If you choose collection or delivery by post, you will receive it as a printed, stamped gift voucher card, plus an email confirmation with the number and code. If you wish to pay for an appointment with a gift voucher, choose ‘Pay in the shop’ when booking online and enter the voucher code; we will apply the voucher on site after the massage. There is no right of return for purchased gift vouchers.
We are liable only for damage caused by us intentionally or through gross negligence, insofar as permitted by law. We accept no liability for valuables or items of clothing.
